Eligibility

Requirement
1. Mandatory Documents
- ✔ Original Old Passport (to be renewed)
- ✔ Self-attested copies of the following pages from the old passport:
- First two and last two pages
- ECR/Non-ECR page
- Any endorsement pages (if applicable)
- Visa pages (if any)
- ✔ Proof of Address (any one of the following):
- Aadhaar Card
- Voter ID
- Utility bills (electricity, water, gas)
- Rent agreement
- Bank passbook statement
- ✔ Proof of Identity (if any details have changed)
- ✔ Proof of Date of Birth (if applicable)

Instruction
Online Registration
- Visit the official Passport Seva website: https://passportindia.gov.in.
- Register as a new user by providing your email ID and creating a password.
- Log in to your account and select the "Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport" option.
- Fill out the application form online or download the e-form to fill it offline and then upload it.
- Ensure all details are accurate and match your supporting documents.
- After submitting the form, schedule an appointment at the nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Regional Passport Office (RPO).
- Choose a convenient date and time from the available slots.
- Pay the applicable fees online through the available payment options.
- The fee varies based on the type of application and booklet (36 or 60 pages). For instance:
- Fresh Passport (36 pages, 10-year validity): ₹1,500
- Fresh Passport (60 pages, 10-year validity): ₹2,000
- Tatkaal Scheme (additional fee): ₹2,000
- On the appointment day, arrive at the selected PSK/RPO with the following:
- Printed appointment confirmation.
- Original documents and their photocopies (proof of identity, address, date of birth, etc.).
- Two recent passport-sized photographs.
- At the PSK/RPO:
- Submit your documents for verification.
- Provide biometric data (fingerprints and photograph).
- Attend a brief interview, if required.
- After your PSK/RPO visit, a police verification process will be initiated.
- A police officer will visit your address to verify the information provided in your application.
- Upon successful verification, your passport will be printed and dispatched to your address via registered post.
- You can track the status of your application on the Passport Seva website.
